This base unit may be used to support two test stations with 8 Inputs and 15 Output each or a single test station with 16 Inputs and 30 Outputs.
This base unit is virtually identical to the Model 81501 starter interface except for the way inputs are recognized. Like that unit, it may be used to support two test stations with 8 Inputs and 15 Output each or a single test station with 16 Inputs and 30 Outputs. Each half is independently fused, with software controlled safety relays to shut off the 28 V DC when not actively controlled.
Output drivers are more robust with higher current limits than previous units. This unit features non-latched inputs to conveniently measure the dwell or hold time of an animal response. An Input response may be recognized when the transition from not activated to activated is made or simply by it's status at any time. This requires careful logic but fewer inputs than the latched input provided by the Model 81501 Interface Module.
Add Model 81502-NL Expansion Interface to support additional modules. Systems using the Whisker Control and ABET II Touch Software for touch screens require non-latched inputs. ABET II Standard Software may be used with either latched or non-latched hardware. See Model 81501 with latched inputs for additional information.
